Liability disclaimer

Effective May 19, 2026

Torque values shown in Torq are for reference only and may be incorrect.

The Service compiles fastener specifications from a mix of manufacturer service manuals, community submissions, and other published sources. Specs change between model years, trims, engine variants, regional markets, and production runs. Any of these can render a value in our database wrong for your specific vehicle.

Always verify before you torque

Before applying torque to any fastener, verify the spec against the current OEM service manual for your specific year, make, model, engine, and trim. If you cannot verify, do not proceed.

Improper torque can cause serious harm

Under-torqued fasteners can come loose, causing loss of vehicle control and crashes. Over-torqued fasteners can shear, strip threads, or yield critical components. The consequences include property damage, severe personal injury, and death.

You accept all risk

By using Torq you accept all risk arising from your reliance on the data shown. Torq, its owners, employees, and contributors are not liable for any damages — including bodily injury, death, or property loss — resulting from your use of the Service. This disclaimer is part of and incorporated into the Terms of Service.

If you are not qualified, get help

Torque-critical work — head bolts, suspension fasteners, brake hardware, axle nuts, wheels — should be performed by a qualified mechanic with the correct tools and current documentation. If you are unsure whether you have the equipment, knowledge, or documentation to do the work safely, stop and consult a professional.
